Eva Bellini

Eva Bellini NAAD master

has focused on hospitals’ architecture and their spaces' quality since her studies at Polytechnic University of Milan [Politecnico di Milano]. Between 1996 and 2001 she works on the design and set up of all the non-medical areas for the European Hospital Georges Pompidou in Paris, with the aim to create welcoming and warm spaces, balancing the high-tech hospital’s profile.

In Milan since 2002, she works for one of the biggest city hospitals, where she successfully renovates 1/3 of the hospital’s wards, introducing integrated and participatory design methods, as well as the use of colours, finishing materials and detailed furnishing in order to realize harmonic, comforting and welcoming spaces for patients, visitors, medical, administrative and technical staff.

In 2010 she obtains her post-graduate master degree on Hospitals' Design from Politecnico di Milano, and since then teaches a class on design methods for health spaces' better quality. She gives lectures at Bocconi School of Management on Hospitals’ buying processes and regularly cooperates with ABC Department of Politecnico.

She is co-author of The Therapeutic Space. A method to the humanization of hospital spaces [Lo spazio terapeutico. Un metodo per il progetto di umanizzazione degli spazi ospedalieri] and has published many articles and scientific papers on the subject. She’s member of the National Committee of the Italian Association for Health Architecture and Engineering (S.I.A.I.S. - Società Italiana dell’Architettura e dell’Ingegneria per la Sanità).
